From Our President
The new year is here and it is a time for reflection and looking forward to the upcoming year. Music City Vikings is now four years old. We have accomplished a lot in these four years. I hope that we continue to grow and experience our Norwegian Culture .
During the next few months we will be doing just that. During the last few years I have met many other “Norwegians” from other lodges and states. I have talked to them about how far away we are from resources to help with our Norwegian culture. We now have an opportunity to invite people in. We had the Folk Dancers from Knoxville and Ginny Nelson with Hardanger Embroidery from Wisconsin.
We have several interesting events in 2014. In January we will have genealogy presentations. In February, we are having Timothy Boyce from District 3. He will talk about the ‘Secret Diary of Odd Nansen.’ In March, Owen Christenson from District 5 will talk on ‘Eat Like a Viking’ or building a longhouse. Later Christine Lewis will talk about their trip to Norway, to be announced. In May we will have Syttende Mai year.
Godt nytt år
