Carol and her husband celebrated Syttende Mai or the May 17th Norwegian Independence Day Celebration in Oslo. They viewed the colorful parades and saw the Norwegian King Harald V and Queen Sonja as they reviewed the festivities and interacted with the many groups of people enjoying the beautiful celebration. Carol showed photos and videos of the Norwegian marching bands and Norwegian families dressed in their traditional bunads who marched and
waved Norwegian flags. ! ! Carol visited with her Norwegian cousins in where her cousin is the mayor of the city.
Carol told us about her relaxing river cruise aboard the famous Viking Ship on the Danube River, where she enjoyed the scenery of five European Countries. The food was fantastic and it was nice to have the scenery be the focal point of the cruise. Carol’s husband is German so they enjoyed visiting the country of his heritage.
Recently Carol traveled to Norway on a Mission trip for the World Outreach Church in Brentwood, TN, where she is on the staff. Her destination was Alesund a beautiful city on the west coast of Norway near Bergen. Carol worked on leadership skills with groups of young people for several days.
Everyone enjoyed the meeting, the fellowship and food brought by the members. See the photo of Carol Fidler and some MCV members on the next page.
